The reason for this sound; the freezer door is left open. If the freezer door is left open, the door open alarm will begin within a few minutes. You will hear a warning sound that will make you aware that the door is not fully shut. As soon as you close the door, the alarm will turn off.
Grundig freezers are designed to keep food frozen for 10 to 18 hours in the event of a power loss. The best way to keep food frozen during a power cut is to leave it in the freezer with the door closed. Keep the door openings to a minimum during this time. You can find the exact time your freezer will keep food frozen, consult your user manual. If you’re having trouble finding your manual, download it here using your product’s model number. If the power outage lasts longer than the specified time, remember that you should not refreeze thawed food.
The recommended temperature for freezers is around -18°C.
